Saigon & Mekong — City and River Life
Saigon’s changing streets, Ben Tre’s waterways and one night in the Delta — five days with private pacing and a principal boat excursion for your party.
Explore journey
Six days between Hue’s imperial landscapes and Hoi An’s merchant streets, with thoughtful guiding, carefully selected stays and room to enjoy Central Vietnam at your own pace.
Hue and Hoi An reveal different ways of understanding Central Vietnam. In Hue, formal architecture and royal history sit within broader imperial landscapes. In Hoi An, merchant heritage, river-oriented street life, food and nearby countryside tell another chapter. Six days allow each place enough time — two nights in Hue, three in Hoi An — with one considered private transfer between them rather than a rushed checklist. Protected rest, selected meals and pacing shaped around your party help the journey feel coherent rather than fragmented. Vietnam Indulgence coordinates the whole route; private local guides lead the scheduled programmes in each city. Guide identity, language and every confirmed arrangement are itemised in your personal proposal.
Suggested flow for six days and five nights, beginning in Hue and finishing at an agreed Da Nang departure point. Two nights in Hue and three in Hoi An. Final timings, tombs, countryside routing, meals and accommodation are confirmed in your personal proposal. Weather, heat, visibility on Hai Van Pass and local access may require reordering, shortening, substitution or indoor alternatives.
Your confirmed arrival transfer brings you to Hue with time to check in and settle. The day is designed to protect your energy after travel. A light orientation may be suggested when arrival timing supports it; no paid heritage visit is essential on arrival day.
Overnight: Hue — night 1 of 2; property and room confirmed in your proposal.
Explore the Imperial City with your private local guide, then pause for a selected Hue lunch — a proper break, not a rushed stop between monuments. Continue to one carefully selected royal tomb (Minh Mang, Tu Duc or Khai Dinh in your proposal, according to interest, mobility, weather and programme balance). Return with time to rest. Thien Mu, a Perfume River boat experience or a garden house may be proposed as substitutes when they genuinely improve the day; they are not stacked by default.
Meals: Suggested: lunch; included meals confirmed in your proposal.
Overnight: Hue — night 2 of 2; property and room confirmed in your proposal.
Travel by private road from Hue to Hoi An with luggage handled throughout. The journey may include a pause at Lang Co when useful and the Hai Van Pass when conditions permit, with selected scenic stops and planned rest rather than a non-stop transfer. Arrive with time to settle into Hoi An. Ba Na Hills, Marble Mountains, a Da Nang city tour or Old Town sightseeing on arrival are not added by default. If Hai Van conditions are poor, the route may be adjusted for safety and comfort.
Overnight: Hoi An — night 1 of 3; property and room confirmed in your proposal.
A guided heritage morning — approximately half a day in feel — focuses on merchant history, architecture, street pattern and selected historic structures, without rigid clock times published here. A selected lunch brings local food context, followed by substantial afternoon rest. The evening remains free or may include an optional additional service confirmed in your proposal. An empty Old Town, lantern festival or every historic house is not promised.
Meals: Suggested: lunch; included meals confirmed in your proposal.
Overnight: Hoi An — night 2 of 3; property and room confirmed in your proposal.
A privately guided half-day beyond Hoi An’s Old Town explores cultivated landscapes, local livelihoods and food — with a short guided walk, time to understand ingredients and cultivation, and interaction only where host consent and arrangements exist. A selected lunch follows before an early afternoon return. Cycling, basket boats, cooking classes, workshops or multiple villages are not mandatory additions. Exact area, hosts, seasonal activity and meal venue are proposal-confirmed.
Meals: Suggested: lunch; included meals confirmed in your proposal.
Overnight: Hoi An — night 3 of 3; property and room confirmed in your proposal.
After breakfast and departure preparation, a private transfer takes you to the agreed Da Nang departure point — airport, station, hotel or onward connection — as itemised in your proposal. The final morning is not filled with another tour by default.
Meals: Suggested: breakfast; additional meals confirmed in your proposal.
Five nights in carefully selected accommodation — two in Hue and three in Hoi An — chosen for sleep quality, room comfort, location, reasonable transfer times, access and service reliability. Hue properties favour quiet convenience for the heritage day; Hoi An properties balance Old Town access with unnecessary noise where possible.
Your proposal confirms each property, room category, facilities and meal arrangements. Stars, pools, gardens or walkability claims are not made here; share essential comforts before confirming.
Selected meals support place and pacing rather than a dining checklist. A selected Hue lunch provides a proper pause in the day, with your guide introducing ingredients and local context behind the meal. Other lunches and arrangements are confirmed in your proposal together with menus, drinks and dietary needs. This is not fine dining, a royal banquet or a chef experience unless expressly agreed.
Private local guiding is arranged for the scheduled programmes in Hue and in Hoi An, with Vietnam Indulgence coordinating transfers, stays and pacing across the journey as a whole. One guide does not accompany you for all six days; guide identity and language are confirmed in your proposal.
Private transport is arranged for scheduled transfers and touring, with the vehicle selected around your travelling party and luggage. It is not a 24/7 standby car, nor the same vehicle or driver for every day unless expressly confirmed.
Travellers interested in culture, architecture and food who prefer private pacing through Central Vietnam, with time to rest between heritage days and one considered transfer.
Walking, standing, stairs and uneven heritage surfaces are part of both cities. Heat, rain and road travel shape comfort. Countryside cycling is not mandatory. This journey is not presented as universally accessible; discuss mobility, road-travel comfort and essential room requirements before a programme is agreed.
The exact inclusions are itemised in your personal proposal. Accommodation, guides, vehicles, restaurants, tomb selection, countryside routing and Da Nang departure point are confirmed for your dates. An enquiry does not confirm a booking.
Separate private local guides for scheduled programmes in Hue and Hoi An, coordinated by Vietnam Indulgence. Language and guide arrangements are confirmed in your proposal.
Heavy rain, heat, storm or flood risk, Hai Van visibility and countryside availability may require reordering, shortening, substitution, moving indoors or removing an element with commercial review. An equivalent substitute is not always available.
Thien Mu, Perfume River context and garden-house visits may be proposed as substitutes when they improve the day; they are not automatic additions to Day 2.
The half-day beyond the Old Town is privately guided; exact area, hosts, seasonal activity, meal and any optional bike or boat use are proposal-confirmed. Village, farm or restaurant access is never assumed.
